Copa America 2024: Dates, Fixtures, Teams, Venues, Groups, Schedule, Kick-off Times and Final
The 16-team Copa America 2024 to be hosted in the USA is now complete after Canada and Costa Rica booked their spots through the play-offs. Canada qualified with a 2-0 victory over Trinidad and Tobago, while Costa Rica saw off Honduras 3-1 to seal their spot.
Copa America 2024 will bring together teams from North and South America for a special 48th edition of the CONMEBOL continental championship and herald the run-up to the 2026 World Cup in the United States (and Mexico and Canada).
Reigning Copa America and World Champions Argentina will kick off the tournament against Canada at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta, on Thursday, June 20 (Friday in Nigeria due to the time zone difference). Argentina will be looking to retain the title they won in 2021, defeating arch-rivals Brazil 1-0. That win marked a significant milestone for Lionel Messi, as it was his first major trophy with the national team.
Argentina are the favourites with the leading sports betting sites to go all the way again in what could be Messi’s final international tournament. However, they will face formidable opposition in Brazil, who last won in 2019, Chile, Uruguay and, possibly the USA, who will also be aiming for glory at home.
From the fixtures and dates to venues and outright betting odds, here is everything you need to know about Copa America 2024.

Argentina are pre-tournament favourites to retain their Copa America title on the best sports betting sites, with Betking listing them at 2.75 odds. La Albiceleste’s favourable position is well-founded, given their recent World Cup triumph, status as the defending champions, and current lead in the South America World Cup 2026 qualifying race.
Additionally, they can count on the genius of Lionel Messi, who continues to defy expectations. The final, scheduled for Miami, is particularly significant for Messi, as it aligns with his club location and offers a potentially illustrious conclusion to his national team career, with the possibility of clinching a third consecutive major trophy.
Brazil trail slightly in the outright betting markets at odds of 3.20 to win Copa America 2024. Despite Neymar’s knee injury sidelining him from the tournament, the Selecao will present a formidable squad led by Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo, and Alisson Becker. Their recent track record in Copa America, including a victory in 2019 and consecutive finals appearances, suggests they may be poised to overcome their four-year major title drought.

Other notable contenders include Uruguay, with odds set at 6.00, eyeing their first Copa America crown since 2011. Having pulled off a remarkable victory over Argentina in Buenos Aires in World Cup 2026 qualifying and with a roster featuring players like Darwin Nunez, Federico Valverde, and Ronald Araujo, Uruguay are definitely a strong contender.
Ecuador, at longer odds of 18.00, have the potential to be a dark horse in the competition, building on their impressive 2022 World Cup campaign. Chile, surprise winners in 2015 and 2016, may not have the same formidable lineup as yesteryear, but their championship experience cannot be discounted. They stand at 28.00 odds to reclaim the title.
The United States, at 13.00 odds, are poised to leverage home advantage as they aim to make history by becoming the first non-South American team to win Copa America. However, given the competitive field, this endeavour might present a significant challenge.
